What we do
FreeDocTemplates is an independent website that publishes free templates for everyday business documents: agreements, invoices, receipts, quotes, proposals, resolutions and shipping documents. Every template comes with an online generator. You answer a short form, the document updates as you type, and you download it as a PDF, as an editable Word (DOCX) file and, for documents with figures, as an Excel workbook with working formulas.
We currently publish 9 templates and add new ones regularly.
Why we built it
Searching for a simple template often leads to scanned PDFs that cannot be edited, image boards, or sites that ask for an account or a payment at the moment of download. We wanted the opposite: fill in two minutes of information and get a clean, well-formatted document, with no sign-up and no watermark.
Our commitments
- Free downloads. No trial, no paywall, no watermark on the files.
- Privacy by design. Documents are generated in your browser. What you type is not sent to or stored on our servers. See the privacy policy.
- Plain, original wording. Every template is written for this site in plain English. See how our templates are made.
- Honesty about limits. Templates are general information, not legal, tax or accounting advice. Laws vary by state; read the disclaimer.
- Legitimate use only. Our receipt and invoice generators exist to document your own real transactions. See the terms of use.
How the site is funded
The site does not show advertising today. We may introduce clearly labeled advertising in the future to cover running costs. If we do, ads will never be placed inside the document forms or next to the download buttons, and we will update our privacy policy first.
